Betty Bengtson
Mary Del Cont, Librarian for the West Virginia Legislature for 32 years, has retired.
Nancy Gaut is now Manager of the Brookfield Branch, Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, OH. She was Assistant Head of the Children's Department and Web Site Coordinator.
Kelly Hughbanks is now Children's Coordinator of the Milwaukee Public Library system (MPL), succeeding Paula Kiely, who was named Deputy City Librarian. Linda Vincent, formerly an Automation Librarian for MPL, has been named Branch Manager, Bay View Library.
Penelope Klein has been appointed Director of the Adamstown Area Library, PA. She was a Librarian at the Southeast Branch of the Reading Public Library, PA.
Sue Luce has been appointed Director of the Josephine County Library System, Grants Pass, OR. She was Director of the Ontario City Library, CA.
Miriam Meier has been named Acting Director, Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS), Saratoga Springs, NY, replacing Edward Michael O'Connor, who retired. Meier was Systems Director, Joint Automation Governance Board, SALS.
Patricia Peterson is now Manager, Anderson Branch, Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. She was Director, Pike County Public Library, Petersburg, IN.
Susanne Seidelin has been named Director of the Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE) office of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. She is currently Chief Consultant at the Danish National Library for the Blind. She succeeds Founding Director Jan Ristarp, who retired.
Patty Wong has been appointed Deputy Director of Library Services at the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library, CA. She was Library Program Manager for Children's Services at the Oakland Public Library.
Bruce Ziegman has been named Executive Director of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, WA. He succeeds Sharon Hammer, who retired after more than 12 years in the position. Ziegman was Assistant Executive Director since June 1989.
OBITUARIES
Perry D. Morrison, retired Science Librarian, University of Oregon, Eugene, died December 7 at the age of 81. He held a Doctorate in Librarianship from the University of California, Berkeley.
