Donald Baker
Lynn Baker has been named Adult Services Manager at the Central Library, Irving Public Library System (IPLS), TX. Baker was Reference Services Supervisor at IPLS.
Barb Bishop has been named Development Coordinator of the Sandusky Library, OH. She was Executive Director of the Beech Grove Education Foundation, Indianapolis.
Barbara Clubb has been named City Librarian for the new Ottawa Public Library (OPL), Ontario, a conglomerate of 11 existing systems merging to serve over 766,00 people. She was Chief Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of OPL.
Sheila C. Ferguson has been appointed Community Relations Officer at the Pikes Peak Library District, Colorado Springs. She was the Development Officer for the district.
Ellen Harbaugh, Director of the Carlsbad Public Library, NM, has retired. She was with the library since 1990, first as Reference Librarian and then as Assistant Director.
Douglas Menarchik has been named Director of the Bush Presidential Library and Museum, College Station, TX. He was a retired Air Force Colonel and Adviser to former President George Bush.
Nan Rosenthal has been appointed Manager of the Haddon Township Branch of the Camden County Library System, NJ. She was a Principal Librarian in the Readers Services Department at the Voorhees Branch of the Camden County Library System.
Gwenda Thomas has been named the first Executive Director of LIASA (Library and Information Association of South Africa). She is the first Executive Director of an LIS association in South Africa. She was Project Leader of the Library's Re-engineering Program at the University of South Africa, Pretoria.
Bryan Wood has been named Assistant Director of the St. Charles Public Library, IL. He was Facilities Manager for the Naperville Public Libraries, IL.
Obituaries
Ralph Eugene Ellsworth, former Director of the University of Colorado Libraries, died November 12 at the age of 93.
Adelia Lines, retired Director of the Berkeley Public Library, CA, died after a struggle with cancer. She was 56. Lines helped organize the Berkeley Public Library Foundation.
