March is Small Press Month!

Staff -- Library Journal, 3/5/2001

March is officially Small Press Month. According to the Small Press Center, New York City, the theme "Expect the Unexpected from Small Press Books," will be developed in thousands of bookstores and libraries throughout the country with special programs, displays, events, bookmarks, and posters. The celebration, in its fifth year, also includes the release of a report on the small press industry and the Small Press Book Fair, March 24-25, at the Center's 44th St. location. Edith Wharton has been selected as the Small Press Center's Author of the Year, and an exhibit of Wharton's work will be featured at the Book Fair. Additionally, Bill Henderson, publisher of the Pushcart Press, will receive the Poor Richard's Award for outstanding contribution to publishing.
