Star Wars Joins E-book Craze

Staff -- Library Journal, 2/19/2001

Technological wizardry has always been a large part of the Star Wars dazzle, and in that cutting-edge spirit, Del Rey and Lucasfilm have announced it is joining the e-book set with the online publication of Darth Maul: Saboteur by James Luceno. The novella runs approximately 14,000 words at a price of $1.99. It is available for downloading in the Microsoft Reader, Gemstar, peanut press, and Adobe/GlassBook formats. Though the story is available exclusively in digital text, it is a preface to the full-length print novel Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. It has also been announced that veteran SF writer Alan Dean Foster will be tapped for the novelization of the second film installation in the prequel trilogy hitting screens in 2002.
