Gale Group's Visible Ink Press Becoming Invisible

Staff -- Library Journal, 2/14/2000

The Visible Ink Press soon will be invisible: Gale Group has announced that in order to "help consolidate and focus [its] efforts on our core customers, the library and education markets," it is disbanding the imprint. While the company will continue to sell its existing backlist of more than 55 titles, all titles scheduled for publication in Spring 2000 have been canceled. The one survivor of the purge will be Video Hound's Golden Movie Retriever, which will continue to see annual updates. Gale Publishing President Dedria Bryfonski said that the Visible Ink's editorial and marketing personnel will be incorporated into other publications.
