Greenwood Names Wayne Smith President, Succeeding Retiring Robert Hagelstein

Staff -- Library Journal, 1/10/2000

Greenwood Publishing Group's  President Robert Hagelstien has retired from that office after 30 years at the helm. He will continue with the company, however, in a lesser capacity as a strategic advisor. Hagelstein has been succeeded by Wayne Smith, a relative short-timer who came to Greenwood in 1996 to direct the company's electronic publishing program. Smith later became VP of Editorial. Smith held other executive posts at McGraw-Hill, St. Martin's, R.R. Bowker, and Thomas Legal Publishing.
