Scholastic Corp. and the Parachute Press are embroiled in a legal tussle over the rights to the popular "Goosebumps" series of young adult shockers. According to AP reports, Scholastic, which retains rights as publisher and distributor for the series, initially sued Parachute in New York State Supreme Court for supposedly hiring ghostwriters to produce several series titles that carried author Robert Stine's name. Parachute quickly filed a counter suit alleging that Scholastic owes $11 million in tardy book advances.
