Spanish Audiobooks on the Rise
Staff -- Library Journal, 2/1/1999
Libraries in the New York City area are reporting a rise in interest in audiobooks recorded in Spanish. This development has spurred an increase in the number of these titles being released by audio producers. At the forefront of this movement is Fortuna Calvo-Roth, a pioneer in Spanish-language audio who runs Nueva Onda Audiotapes. Calvo-Roth recently told New York's Daily Newsthat she is working towards translating "as many American classics and the works of new Latin American authors into spoken words each year as possible."
