Audio Book Club Buys Columbia House

The Audio Book Club Inc. has acquired the rival Columbia House Audiobook Club for an undisclosed sum. According to newswire reports, Audio Book executives expect the acquisition to more than double the company's revenue and expand its customer file to more than one million names. Earning more than 16 million in 1998, Audio Book was already a successful operation.
