Library by Design, Fall 2009
LJ's fifth Design Institute, a daylong interactive seminar on Green Design, took place on May 8, 2009, at the Arlington Public Library, VA. Through a series of presentations, panels, and breakout sessions, leading architects, designers, librarians, and vendors conferred on the latest developments and strategies relating to sustainable design on the cheap. Among this year's topics of discussion: renovating historic buildings, retrofitting existing buildings, and updates to the LEED rating system.
